Volkl introduced some minor changes in its best-selling Kenja — a wider 90 mm waist, a bit of tip taper, and discrete rocker at the tip and tail — all intended to make the ski easier to initiate and more playful. That’s not to say that the Volkl Kenja Skis +Atomic Lithium 10 Demo Bindings have lost any of their legendary precision or power; the Kenja still carves up hard snow like a Ginsu knife in butter, and blasts through variable snow like the DEA coming in the front door of a crack house. Not for the faint of heart, but perfect for the technically sound rider who knows the difference between a clean carved turn and a skidded one, the Kenja is waiting.

Rocker Type
Freeski Tip & Tail Rocker – Makes the ski turn-friendly and allows for a stiffer flex setup. Only the shovel and tail zones bend upwards, with traditional cambering in the middle for pop.
Shape
Moderate Tip & Tail Taper
Core
Multi-Layer Wood Core – Völkl freeskiing models feature a multi-layer wood core that features two different densities of wood. In the binding attachment area, a dense, ash core is used, while in the rest of the ski, the core is poplar. The more dense wood creates more secure screw retention, preventing binding pull-out, and the soft, supple poplar section allows for resilience and snap. The flex pattern is tailored to each ski model, depending on the desired performance.
